CDC

Collaborative content development

The legacy communication form used to coordinate updates of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) features – Feature Promotion Request Form – focused on content scheduling and compliance without consideration of content performance or improvement.

Tools used: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Moz, Meltwater, Microsoft, WordPress

I introduced Performance Information to the Feature Promotion Request Form to share user trends, device use, and top search terms with stakeholders. Leading with this UX data brought collaboration to the process. Content recommendations were made based on this information and incorporated into the subject-led legacy process for copy updates.

Being first in search engine results is an enviable position that CDC enjoys. Improvements to such informed content within the structured organization are a challenge. Introducing content performance measures allowed for better collaboration with SMEs to improve featured public health information as it relates to CDC users.
